Our recent trip to Tulum has firmly put the destination on my ‘favourite places in the world’ list.
With its crystal clear oceans, fine sandy beaches and amazing food, it was exactly what we wanted for a winter holiday. October/November is the end of hurricane season, which in my opinion is the perfect time to go, whilst you run the risk of the odd rainy day, it’s far less crowded and is more of a comfortable heat.
I pretty much lived in this ARTESANO Playa Hat which I got from Beach Cafe. Perfect for protecting your face and neck as it’s so large. I don’t know about you but I’m all about the minimal make up when I’m away. Who wants to waste valuable holiday time doing make up for it to just sweat off anyway? Not me, so this hat was the perfect cover up for those mornings I woke up slightly worse for wear after one too many margaritas and couldn’t bear to do anything to my face.
What holiday suitcase is complete without a cover up? I picked up a couple of pieces from Melissa Odabash, including this Cindy Kaftan and the aptly named Cancun Ripples Bikini (we flew into Cancun)
Last but not least I was introduced to a new swimwear brand called LA MAREE they do some amazing bikinis which are really simple but fit amazingly well. They’re brilliant for mixing and matching too!
We spent our trip in a few different hotels from Xpu-ha to Tulum – I can’t wait to share more of the details with you on where we stayed as well as lots more beautiful photos and a little guide of places you have to try, food wise and otherwise, so stay tuned!
