Entering a gravel driveway you’re met with an elegant example of a nineteenth-century villa-farm, one of the few remaining in the area. Perfectly manicured gardens, mighty old cedar trees and views out towards the Tuscan hillside are the perfect backdrop to your Italian escape.
There are 14 bedrooms which can be individually booked or the property can be rented in its entirety. All rooms are unique in style, some with fourposter beds and some with fireplaces. The bathrooms feature beautiful authentic tiling with either walk-in showers or luxurious bathtubs. There are an additional 2 apartments, separate to the main house which are divided into 2 bedrooms with their own bathrooms and with a shared kitchen and lounge for each.
Deep-set in the grounds surrounded by loungers and umbrellas is a sizeable pool, perfect for cooling off in the hot summer months. Pool service appeared to be a-miss during our stay, but you don’t have to wander far to hunt down an Aperol Spritz from the bar. If you fancy a day off from pool lazing there are a few nearby wineries, or if you feel like venturing further afield Grosseto and the coastal town of Castiglione della Pescaia are both easy day trips.
Food at La Pescaia is lovingly prepared with organic vegetables from the garden and exclusively selected meats from local producers in the Tuscany region, the venue operates a kind of home from home style restaurant, with no menus and serving to guests only. Perfetto!
