This means embracing the curl and using products to inject a bit of TLC into sun and salt damaged hair. I love Morrocan Oil and use it religiously at home, but I always make sure I take a new bottle away with me so that I can apply liberally, not only after a hair wash but throughout the day when hair feels dry, particularly after the sea or the pool and even to control fly aways when I’m wrapping my hair into a bun.

Scent is so important to me, especially when I travel as I feel like it helps to create memories of a destination. Once I’m back home a spritz of a favourite perfume can have me transported back to a particular place in no time. For this particular trip I took two new fragrances. Jo Malone’s Orange Blossom for during the day, which has the most gorgeous light, fresh and floral sent and also Vilhelm Parfumerie’s Fleur Burlesque for the evenings which is a bit muskier.

I’ve previously spoken about how much I love cleansing oils and I’ve recently been introduced to a brand that has been around forever but still relatively unheard of in the UK, Erno Laszlo. I was introduced to the brand through it’s cult product the Double Cleanse oil and soap. I have a couple of these now and they’re perfect for travelling as they come in a handy travel sized box. I switch it up between the detox and hydrate variety depending on what my skin needs at the time.

4.

Continuing the love for Erno Laszlo is the Active Phelityl Night Cream. I love applying this cream right before bed and giving myself a bit of a face massage at the same time, it really helps the cream sink into your skin and I wake up with really glowy skin. Nothing else I’ve tried works quite like it.

Caring for the skin around my eyes is a must on holiday, especially now that I’m 30, the crows feet that have been making an appearance since my mid twenties now seem more keen to cement a place on my face so I’ve been using the Erno Laszlo Antioxidant complex. I apply this morning and evening around the eye area before applying any other product and I can feel the tightening effect once the gel starts to dry. I’m not sure how well its working on the dark circles, but as my main issue is tightening and toning I’m pretty happy with it. The key ingredients include Retinyl Palmitate and¬†Vitamin C which are key.

Jo Malone has always been a go to brand for me for fragrances both body and home, but I have recently tried the brands Vitamin E range and I have to say I think I’m converted. My first and favourite product is the Vitamin E Gel.¬† A little goes a long way with this product as it can be quite rich. I apply a small dollop in the palm of my hands and rub together to warm up before applying to my face. It’s great for areas where you’ve caught a bit too much sun, or bits that feel a bit tight or dry. I’ve been using it on scars and mosquito bites and love how versatile it is. The smell is the only thing that puts me off, but this can only be a testament to how good it works as it’s not enough to put me off using it.

7.

My last vacation beauty essential is the Jo Malone Vitamin E day cream. Perfect for putting on after cleansing your face in the morning as it has a built in SPF, so you know you have a bit of protection even if you don’t want to lather up with sunscreen before breakfast. The cream is very light and sinks into the skin quickly without leaving any grease or oil remnants, which if perfect for a holiday day cream, especially if you’re travelled somewhere hot and humid.
