I write this from my sun lounger in beautiful Seville wearing a piece from the Violet & Wren AW15 collection, a stunning kimono in ‘Lacquered Rose’. The weather is balmy, we’ve spent the day exploring the grounds and lapping up as much sun as possible (it’s apparently 12 degrees and cloudy back home in London).
Before I left I, I didn’t anticipate I would wear the pieces as much as I have done, truth be told I have pretty much lived in this robe since we arrived, throwing it on top of bikini’s, as a light cover up for lazy afternoon walks and even pairing it with a simple black dress for dinner. The versatility of the collection is all part of its appeal. Luxury doesn’t come cheap, prices start at £35 for an eye-mask and go up to £330 for a kimono, but these are investment pieces, designed to be worn across all seasons for years to come. Not only that, the immaculate quality is undeniable; designed to be worn and to last.
Founders Helen Pollington and Louise Barnard have created something really special with Violet & Wren, now in their second season, (after such huge success with their first ‘Botanica’ range for SS15) they have stuck to the same perfectly edited capsule pieces for AW15, comprising of cute shorts, knickers, slip, camisole, long trouser and short sleeve shirts, in a combination of print and plain lilac, the collection is designed to be mix and matched, extremely adaptable and easy to translate into everyday wear.
